A Pause

Each of my drawings is an act of self-observation, recording an emotion, a mood or a thought, even if an abstract one. A pause is a moment of silence, peaceful and calm, in harmony and balance with itself.

When I was working on this drawing I was interested in how an automatic mannerism (the articulation of her hands and her pose that came from unplanned free-driven lines) in a drawing can nonetheless communicate a specific emotion or mood.
